The number of companies operating in Georgia with Azerbaijani investment has exceeded 5,500, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, said while speaking at a roundtable discussion titled "Georgia-Azerbaijan: Strategic Partnership and a Shared Future" held in Tbilisi, APA's local bureau reports.
According to him, the total volume of Azerbaijani investments in Georgia amounts to $3.6 billion.
"The annual trade turnover between the two countries amounts to $1.4 billion. The goal is to increase this figure to $2 billion," the ambassador added.
Faig Guliyev noted that the existing close political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia create a strong foundation for elevating their relations from strategic partnership to the level of strategic alliance.
