Azerbaijan sees decline in monetary base in January

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of February 1, 2012, the national currency (manat) monetary base stood AZN 7,601.5 mln, down 27.5% or 1,640.9 mln compared to previous year, told the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The monetary base decreased by 8.1% or AZN 673.9 mln in January, 2012.

Note that, the monetary base includes currency in circulation and reserves which commercial banks hold in their accounts with the central bank.
