Former Minister of Defense of Georgia Bacho Akhalaia has left the 12th penitentiary institution in Rustavi. He was met by relatives and friends near the prison, APA reports citing Georgian Journal.
Bacho Akhalaia's 9-year sentence expired on November 6 last year, however, as his wife and lawyer Ani Nadareishvili explains, the 9-year sentence count started from the date of the verdict, not considering the measure of the restraint detention period.
The former Minister of Defence, Bacho Akhalaia, was sentenced to 9 years in prison in the so-called Russian spies’ case.
