The European Council released a statement on Sunday condemning Hamas for its actions against Israel, describing the attacks as "brutal and indiscriminate" acts of terror, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The EU reiterated Israel's right to self-defense, in compliance with humanitarian and international law, when confronted with such attacks. "There is no justification for terror ... We reiterate the importance of ensuring the protection of all civilians at all times in line with International Humanitarian Law," the statement read.
The EU went on to call for the immediate unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas and underscored the importance of providing essential humanitarian aid to those in need.
