Warsaw –APA. Polish President Lach Kaczynski waived a bodyguard service of the Government Protection Bureau in protest against dismissal of his chief bodyguard Krzysztof Olszowiec. The president said he didn’t intend to use the Government Protection Bureau’s service during his one-week trip to the Asian countries. Kaczynski said Olszowiec had no mistake over the Georgia incident and the Government Protection Bureau exceeded powers to fire him. The head of state said he wanted faithful guards to protect him. Kaczynski said he knew Colonel Olszowiec for 18 years and he never left him under the threat.
Spokesman for the Government Protection Bureau Darius Alexanderovic said legislation didn’t consider waiving of bodyguard service by the government officials. He said Olszowiec’s dismissal didn’t mean his resignation or any sanction against him, it was only the technical procedure.
Kaczynski will visit Mongolia, Japan and Korea from November 30 to December 7. Experts said if Kaczynski traveled without bodyguards, the countries he would visit couldn’t receive him.
