The inquiry should be started at 9.00 by local time at the court organized in Silivri jail of Istanbul, but crowd inside prevented the process. Lawyers said there could not be a fair process because of small room. The judge proposed to charge the arrested people separately from those, who are still at large, but the lawyers rejected it. Then the judges decided to withdraw people from the room except the charged men and left for the meeting.
Totally 280 people, charged people at large, relatives and journalists inspected in 4 check-points were allowed to enter into the court room. Those, who are outside, can watch the trial on large LCD monitor. Members of Worker Party and Ataturkist Sense Circle started protest action before the jail building. The court is chaired by the three judges of Istanbul’s 13th Grave Crime Court. 2455-page indictment expected to be read within 20 days. 86 people are charged on the criminal case. 46 of them are under the arrest.
