Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. Balkan gas hub will be constructed by Blgartransgas’s branch, Bulgartransgaz Executive Director Georgi Gegov said.
According to him, 50% of the project’s shares will be offered to the strategic investors. Investment value of the project makes EUR 1.5 billion. The final cost will be known after feasibility study in 2017-2018.
The new hub will increase gas transported through the country by 43 billion cubic meters, the executive director said.
Gegov acknowledged that there is n uncertainty about funding of the project.
Bulgarian energy minister Temenuzhka Pektova said that the issue of funding the project will be solved after negotiations with potential investors.
PM Boyko Borisov has already specified that five countries agreed to transported gas for future hub. They also include Russia: “I expect from Brussels not only support, but also a practical assistance. For this purpose, the EU must give consent to trilateral talks with Russia and Bulgaria, as well other interesting countries. Saying potential partner, I can note Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Iran and US. The project has prospectus and advantages”.
