Last year, 38,752.1 thousand tons of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 2.5% less than the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing Azerbaijan's State Statistics Committee.
The information states that 76% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and 29,470.9 thousand tons of oil were transported through this pipeline during the reporting period, which is 2.4% less than the previous year.
During the reporting period, 82% or 24,172.5 thousand tons of oil transported through the BTC pipeline was oil produced in Azerbaijan, and 18% or 5,298.4 thousand tons (an increase of 1.1%) was oil imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
Noted that in 2023, 39,753.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through main oil pipelines, which is 5.2% more than the previous year. 75.9% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and this pipeline was used over the past year.
