In January-October of this year, 30,580.7 thousand tons of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 4.8% less than the previous year, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
74.4% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and 22,760.8 thousand tons of oil were transported through this pipeline during the reporting period, which is 5.9% less than the previous year.
Of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline during the reporting period, 85.1% or 19,369.1 thousand tons was oil produced in Azerbaijan (a 1.7% decrease), and 14.9% or 3,391.7 thousand tons (a 24.2% decrease) was oil imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
Recall that last year, 38,752.1 thousand tons of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 2.5% less than the previous year. 76% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and during the reporting period, 29,470.9 thousand tons of oil were transported through this pipeline, which is 2.4% less than the previous year.
