A document on partnership between SOCAR and SLB has been signed to accelerate the redevelopment of the “Bahar” and “Gum-Deniz” fields in the Caspian Sea, SOCAR told APA-Economics.
According to the information, the partnership aims to identify promising production zones, develop comprehensive reservoir modeling, and design well and rig programs to support an Early Production Scheme (EPS) at these fields.
The project will play a significant role in SOCAR’s long-term strategy to increase oil production and extend the operational life of mature offshore assets. This initiative aims to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability, including developing practical development scenarios to accelerate production.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Babek Huseynov, SOCAR’s Vice President for the Development and Production Operations segment, spoke about the successful cooperation between SOCAR and SLB. The Vice President stating that the project is an important step toward optimizing production at mature fields using advanced methods, expressed his confidence that the technical foundation will be laid for the next phases of the redevelopment of the “Bahar” and “Gum-Deniz” fields.
