Serbia aims to sign new gas agreement with Azerbaijan as soon as possible

Our governments are interested in expanding Azerbaijan-Serbia cooperation, said the Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, during a joint press briefing with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), Sahiba Gafarova, in Baku, APA reports.

The Chairwoman noted that the countries are determined to increase trade turnover: "Azerbaijan is one of the most reliable countries in the world, ensuring energy security. We place great importance on expanding our cooperation in the energy sector. We will build a gas-fired power plant in Serbia that can also transmit Azerbaijani gas to Bulgaria. Relevant ministries are finalizing these works. We hope to sign the new gas agreement as soon as possible."
