A total of 251 million barrels (34 million tons) of oil have been produced to date from the “West Chirag” platform located in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oil and gas fields block, APA-Economics reports, citing BP, the operator of the ACG project.
According to the information, a total of 35 wells have been drilled from the platform so far, including 26 oil production wells, 1 gas production well, 7 water injection wells, and 1 well for re-injecting drill cuttings into the layers.
It is noted that 12 years have passed since the first oil was obtained from the ACG “West Chirag” platform.
Recall that the equity distribution in ACG is as follows: BP – 30.37% (operator), AzACG (SOCAR) – 31.65%, MOL – 9.57%, Inpex – 9.31%, ExxonMobil – 6.79%, TPAO – 5.73%, Itochu – 3.65%, and ONGC Videsh Ltd. (OVL) – 2.92%.
