As a result of geological exploration works carried out in the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions during 2020–2025, more than 50 construction material deposits have been discovered and put into use, covering local areas, said Shahin Atashov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Geological Exploration Agency of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, at the meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Issues held in the city of Shusha, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
According to him, as a result of hydrogeological research, the reserves of underground water deposits in the Karabakh and Jabrayil foothill plains have been re-evaluated.
Shahin Atashov stated that as a result of the exploration of ore mineral deposits, promising areas have been discovered in the Chullu field of the Aghdam district and the Bine field of the Khojavand district.
Restoration work is being carried out on the Yal Pirahmadli kahriz in the Fuzuli district, the Chinar kahriz in the Jabrayil district, and the Dash Veysalli village kahriz. The Huseynaga kahriz and six kahrizes in Hovuslu have been restored.
