“Our goal is to achieve Net-Zero by 2050 and adhere to the 1.5°C limit,” said Elnur Soltanov, Deputy Minister of Energy, on the opening day of the 2nd Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW), APA-Economics reports.
He emphasized that the main role of governments is to engage the private sector in this effort.
“The transition is not possible without market forces. Governments and funds must support the process, provide initial financing, and activate market mechanisms, as many green technologies are still expensive and the market does not naturally select them,” the deputy minister stated.
