Kyrgyzstan is ready to support Azerbaijan's initiatives in the field of green energy corridors, clean energy storage zones and technologies, and climate finance, Taalaibek Ibraev, Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic, said this at the Investment Forum on Energy Transition in Central Asia organized within COP29, APA reports.
"We believe that with the joint launch of renewable energy projects, it is possible to achieve more efficient use and management of water resources, taking into account environmentally friendly energy production in Kyrgyzstan and the region. This will help to strengthen the energy, environmental and food security not only of our country, but also of other countries of the region," the minister noted.
Taalaibek Ibraev called on energy ministers, representatives of the international community and participants of the event to join the construction project of the "Kambarata-1" Hydroelectric Power Station located at the sources of the rivers of Central Asia. The uniqueness of this project is determined by the well-coordinated consolidation of the efforts of all three countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan) with the support of the World Bank.
"I am sure that only actions coordinated around the green agenda will allow everyone to develop and strengthen partnership projects between governments, the private sector and international financial institutions," Taalaibek Ibraev stressed.
