Global oil demand growth rate to accelerate  -FORECAST

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) under the Department of Energy has updated its forecast for global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons for 2025–2026, APA-Economics reports, citing the EIA’s monthly report.

This year the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons will amount to 104.14 million barrels, which is 0.15 million barrels higher than the previous forecast.

According to the EIA’s forecast, in 2026, the mentioned indicator is expected to reach 105.2 million barrels (previous forecast – 105.11 million barrels).

It is noted that in 2024, the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons amounted to 103.09 million barrels, which means an increase of 0.95 million barrels compared to the 2023 figure (102.14 million barrels).

Recall that in 2022, the average global daily demand for liquid hydrocarbons was 99.15 million barrels. In 2021, this indicator was 97.56 million barrels, in 2020 – 91.81 million barrels, while in 2019, this figure amounted to 101.23 million barrels.
