Last year, 40,348.3 million cubic meters of gas were transported through main gas pipelines in Azerbaijan, showing a 2.7% increase compared to the previous year, the State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics.
56.6% of this gas transportation was carried out via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline.
This pipeline transports gas produced from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field for export.
During the reporting period, 22,851.9 million cubic meters of gas were transported through this pipeline, marking a 4.3% increase.
Recall that in 2023, Azerbaijan transported 39,806.9 million cubic meters of gas through its main pipelines, reflecting a 1.4% increase compared to the previous year. 54.8% of this gas transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline. During the reporting period, 21,800.1 million cubic meters of gas were transported through this pipeline, representing a 4.82% increase compared to the 2022 figures.
