Expenditures on Shah Deniz field increased by nearly 10%

During the three quarters of this year, approximately 2,592 million US dollars were spent on activities at the Shah Deniz gas and condensate field located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, which is an increase of 9.7% compared to the previous year, APA-Economics reports, citing the report of BP on the results of its activities in Azerbaijan for the first nine months of the current year.

According to the information, during the reporting period, approximately 1 billion 836 million dollars in operating expenses and approximately 756 million dollars in capital expenses were incurred on Shah Deniz activities. The vast majority of these expenses were related to the Shah Deniz-2 project.

“During the third quarter, gas deliveries from the Shah Deniz field to the markets of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), Georgia (GOGC), Türkiye (BOTAŞ) continued, BTC for numerous facilities and buyers in Europe,” the report notes.

It is reported that in the first nine months of the year, a total of approximately 21 billion standard cubic meters of gas and approximately 3 million tons (approximately 24 million barrels) of condensate were produced from the field - from the Shah Deniz Alfa and Shah Deniz Bravo platforms combined. The production capacity of the existing Shah Deniz facilities is currently approximately 75.7 million standard cubic meters per day (approximately 27.6 billion per year).
