"The Azerbaijani government took serious steps toward the green transition even before COP29. Previously accumulated financial resources from oil and gas are now being directed toward the transition process, said Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov on the opening day of the 2nd Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW), APA-Economics reports.
He noted that Azerbaijan has risen to a leadership position in the region through changes in its energy policy.
“We are building the region’s largest solar power plant and will create 2 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2027,” the deputy minister added.
