Capital expenditures on South Caucasus Pipeline increased by more than 60%

In the first three quarters of this year, expenditures on the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) amounted to approximately USD 73 million, which is equal to last year’s figure, APA-Economics reports, citing BP’s report on the results of its activities in Azerbaijan for the first nine months of the current year.

According to the report, during the reporting period, operating expenses for the SCP were approximately USD 52 million (a 13.3% decrease), while capital expenditures were about USD 21 million (a 61.5% increase).

The SCP has been operational since late 2006, transporting Shah Deniz gas to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye. The expanded section of the pipeline commenced commercial deliveries to Türkiye in June 2018 and to Europe in December 2020.

“In the first three quarters of the year, the South Caucasus Pipeline’s (SCP) average daily throughput capacity for exports was 63.1 million cubic meters,” the report notes.
