Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant will meet 4-5% of Azerbaijan's electricity demand, said Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy, at the first panel installation ceremony of the Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant, APA-Economics' correspondent dispatched to Bilasuvar reports.
He noted that the Bilasuvar Solar Power Plant will be commissioned in the first half of 2026 and will begin transmitting electricity to the grid at full capacity from the end of next year.
"This solar power plant will meet 4-5% of Azerbaijan's electricity demand," Javid Abdullayev noted.
According to him, the electricity produced from solar energy in Bilasuvar will contribute to the conservation of Azerbaijan's gas resources and will allow the saved gas to be directed for export.
