"By the end of 2027, Azerbaijan plans to increase renewable energy sources to approximately 33% of the installed capacity of the country's electricity system," Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev said as he delivered a speech at SPECA Economic Forum, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, currently, the production capacity of renewable sources in Azerbaijan is 1688 MW or approximately 20%.
Deputy Minister noted that it is planned to increase this indicator to 30% by 2030.
Samir Valiyev stated that despite the set target, by the end of 2027, with the integration of 1,870 MW of "green" power into the country's energy system, renewable sources are expected to reach 33% of the installed capacity of the country's electricity system.
