The renewable energy potential in Azerbaijan is 27 gigawatts and this figure is aimed to be increased, said Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, Sadig Gurbanov, during his speech at the round table held within the framework of the "Baku Climate Action Week", APA reports.
"23 of the 27 gigawatts are solar energy. This figure is calculated as 7-8% in the total energy balance. With the new energy zone created in Karabakh and East Zangezur, it is aimed to increase this figure to 30% by 2030," Sadig Gurbanov noted.
