Azerbaijanâ€™s key cement maker to raise capacity by 31%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s major cement maker Garadagh Cement will get a 31% rise in its annual capacity after putting into operation a new production chamber in 2011, said the companyâ€™s marketing manager Kamran Abbasov.
He added that the production expansion would allow increasing clinker production to 1.2 million tons from 0.8 million tons a year and cement production to 1.7 million tons from 1.3 million tons a year.
Besides, this would minimize environmental impact of the cement production at the plant and halve electricity consumption.
The project costs â‚¬327.
Garadagh Cement is owned by Holcim, EBRD and Azerbaijan Investment Company.
