"In total, remains belonging to 613 individuals have been discovered and retrieved until today," stated an article published in AZERTAC by Gazanfar Ahmadov, secretary of Azerbaijan's State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons and head of the Working Group, APA reports.
Gazanfar Ahmadov noted that to date, 18 mass graves have been discovered during excavations conducted in the territories liberated from Armenian occupation, and the remains of 169 individuals believed to be buried in these graves have been identified and exhumed in the presence of representatives from investigative bodies. During the identification process, it was determined that the remains of 59 of these individuals belonged to those who went missing during the First Garabagh War.
