France’s national holiday – the Bastille Day marked in Baku

Baku. Lachin Sultanova –APA. France’s national holiday – the Bastille Day was marked in Baku. French ambassador to Azerbaijan Gabriel Keller said this holiday has been marked in Azerbaijan for 16 years already, APA reports. He reminded that France was one of the first countries recognized Azerbaijan’s independence in 1992. The ambassador said relations between the two countries were very deep and close and he would try to deepen these relations during his office here. Keller said France took EU chairmanship on July 1 and he hoped for further development of French-Azerbaijani and EU-Azerbaijani relations in this period. The diplomat said Nagorno Karabakh conflict was damaging the regional economy. “France wants the conflict to be solved soon”. Addressing the ceremony, First Vice-Speaker of Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov said he was hopeful that France, as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and Also as EU chair, would increase its efforts toward the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
