Azerbaijani President congratulates his French counterpart

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy on the Franceâ€™s national holiday â€“ the Bastille Day. Press-service of the President told APA, a successful development of Azerbaijani-French relations were underlined in the letter of congratulation and it was noted that expanding friendly relations between the two countries are an obvious indicator of the mutually interesting useful cooperation in a number of spheres and dynamic and interesting bilateral relations as well. â€œWe are pleased with the Franceâ€™s interest and attention to Azerbaijan and its desire to contribute to solution of the problems facing our country. In this context, it is very important for us that France intends to give a special support to Azerbaijan in the process of deepening of relations between Azerbaijan and European Union during the Franceâ€™s EU presidency. Essentially we hope that France, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, will increase its activity and persistence for the soonest and fair solution to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict originated as a result of aggression against our countryâ€.
