President of Azerbaijan issues an order for celebration of 80th anniversary of Peopleâ€™s Artist Tahir Salahov

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has issued an order on Friday for celebration of 80th anniversary of outstanding Azerbaijani artist, Hero of Socialist Labor, laureate of USSR and Azerbaijan State Prizes, USSR Peopleâ€™s Artist Tahir Teymur Salahov, press-service of the President told APA. It is noted in the document that Salahov is an outstanding representative of the modern Azerbaijan Art School, which has brilliant traditions. His works distinguished for their rich themes and genres, colorful artistic form and esthetic perfection are in the golden fund of our national art treasure. He was famous with his exhibitions around the world. His works exhibited in the prestigious museums and galleries of the world, as well as in private collections, play important role in the wide popularization of Azerbaijani culture. Tahir Salahov made significant contributions to preparing of young generation of artists with his pedagogical activity and organizational skills, as well as to the development of national art school.
Ministry of Culture and Tourism has been charged in the document to take into consideration the proposals of the Union of Artists and to prepare and to carry out the plan of measures for celebration of Tahir Salahovâ€™s 80th anniversary and Cabinet of Ministers has been charged to solve the issues arising from the order.
