Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia suspends its activity

Farid Akbarov-APA. â€œThe Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia has suspended its activityâ€, member of the newly-established unionâ€™s Coordination Council, President of â€œAzerrosâ€, National-Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis in Russia Soyun Sadikhov told APAâ€™s Moscow correspondent.

He said the new organization has suspended its activity due to the groundless reports about it in the Azerbaijani media.
â€œAs founders of the union we have decided to suspend the activity of the Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia until the meeting of Abbas Abbasov with Azerbaijanâ€™s President Ilham Aliyev. The Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia will continue functioning after the meetingâ€, he said.

President of â€œAzerrosâ€ also commented on media reports about the Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia. He said the media reports about the union were provocation.
â€œThe reports that the union has been established under the instructions of the Kremlin and other reports are false. The organization founded by influential Azerbaijani businessmen in Russia is not against the Azerbaijani state or government. Our aim is to establish relations between the Azerbaijani organizations in Russia. Members of the Coordination Council of the Union of Azerbaijani Organizations in Russia are concerned over the condition of Azerbaijanis in Russia. We all support the Azerbaijani state and governmentâ€, he said.
