US hosts event on 20th anniversary of Shushaâ€™s occupation - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh â€“ APA. Azerbaijani embassy in the US held an event on the 20th anniversary of the occupation of Shusha.

Press service of the embassy told APA that the representatives of the Azerbaijan-American Society (AAS), as well as Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas participated in the event. Representative of â€œAzerTAcâ€ news agency in Washington Shafag Mehraliyeva delivered keynote speech at the event and spoke about the place of Shusha in the culture and history of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani ambassador to the US Elin Suleymanov noted that despite Azerbaijani lands were under the occupation of Armenian armed forces, actually Armenia was defeated and became weaker day by day. The ambassador also noted that chairmanship of Azerbaijan over the UN Security Council within May had a symbolic significance in showing the difference between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Then the participants of the event acquainted with American artist of Azeri origin Yaver Rzayevâ€™s exhibition titled â€œKarabagh: on my mindâ€. At the end of event, participants viewed the English version of â€œFaryadâ€ feature film.
