Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis marked in New York

Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations told APA that the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyevâ€™s address to the world Azerbaijanis was read in the event.

The participants spoke about Azerbaijanâ€™s achievements, its way, economic situation and place that it takes in the world.

In his speech, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Agshin Mehdiyev spoke about the successes of Azerbaijan achieved during 20 years of its independence and reforms carried out in the country. He said Azerbaijan was elected as the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2012-2013 as a result of policy conducted under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and noted that it was a new victory.

The participants sounded their congratulations on occasion of 50th jubilee of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Mehdiyev was also invited to Davidson Radio widely broadcasted in New York and gave detailed information about Azerbaijan during his one-hour interview.

Mehdiyev also touched Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict and said that Armeniaâ€™s occupation policy was a threat to the maintenance of peace and security in the region.

Then Mehdiyev responded the questions.
