Mammad Aliyev re-elected as president of All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress

Moscow. Farid Akperov â€“ APA. The 3rd meeting of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress was finished in Moscow. APA correspondent in Moscow reports that president of the Congress Mammad Aliyev made annual report about the activity of his organization.

After hearing of the control-inspection commissionâ€™s report, chief of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ramiz Mehdiyev addressed the congress. He said Azerbaijan and Russia were partners. Underlining the economic development and raising international influence of Azerbaijan, Mehdiyev emphasized Moscowâ€™s support of the election of Azerbaijan to the UN Security Councilâ€™s non-permanent membership.

Mehdiyev said the All-Russia Azerbaijanis Congress was one of the largest Diaspora organizations of Azerbaijan and there was a special attention to the Diaspora-building process by the state. â€œThis tradition was founded by national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and is successfully developed by President Ilham Aliyev nowâ€.

Then Ramiz Mehdiyev said according to the orders issued by the Azerbaijani President Mammad Aliyev was awarded with Dostlug (Friendship) Medal, prominent representatives of the Diaspora - God Nisanow was decorated with Tereggi (Progress) Medal and director general of Msocow-based Dervish Theater Mardan Feyzullayev with the title of Honorary Artist.

Following the speeches the reports of the Mandate Commission, Control-Inspection Commission were put to the vote and approved, amendments were made to the Statute of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress. The participants of the meeting addressed Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, adopted Statement and Resolution of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress.

136-member Central Board and 7-member Control-Inspection Commission of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress were elected.

After the meeting, the Central Board of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress held a meeting. Mammad Aliyev was re-elected president of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress. The Central Board elected 31-member Management Board of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress. Mikayil Huseynov was elected Secretary General of the All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress.

Senior officials of Azerbaijan and Russia, scientists, public figures, businessmen and media representatives attended the conference. Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Ramiz Mehdiyev, chiefs of departments of the Presidential Administration Zeynal Nagdaliyev, Ali Hasanov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov, head of the Russian community in Azerbaijan, MP Mikhail Zabelin, Azerbaijani ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu also attended the conference.
