New so-called â€œArmenian genocideâ€ resolution draft to be introduced to US Congress

Washington. Isabel Levine â€“ APA. American Azerbaijanis and Turkish Diaspora in the US launch yet another campaign against the new so called â€œArmenian genocideâ€ resolution draft that is being introduced to the United States Congress this week, APAâ€™s Washington DC correspondent reports.

The US Azerbaijanis and Turks have learned that pro-Armenian forces are planning to introduce some other resolutions as well, such as resolutions that are linked to the Armenian-Turkish relations.

Among those possible resolutions is resolution asking to return some churches to the Armenian Patriarchate of Istanbul, allowing them to function as churches and not museums or mosques.

â€œWe are going to oppose any kind of such resolutions, because they are baseless! Armenians better remember about all those historical monuments they turned into ruins in Nagorno-Karabakhâ€, said Umid Gultekin, a member of Turkish Diaspora in US.

Some other resolutions that Armenians want to present to the Congress include lifting of the blockade of Armenia by Turkey and Azerbaijan, said Gultekin, adding that instead pro-Azerbaijani and pro-Turkish forces will be representing resolutions that reflect their respective interests and opposing Armenian ones.
