Procession held in Manchester on Khojaly genocide

Baku â€“ APA. The FM commemorative rally on the anniversary of Khojaly tragedy was organized by a group of Azerbaijani and foreign students educated in Great Britainâ€™s Manchester University.

APA reports that the rally was held by the Association of Azerbaijanis in Manchester within the framework of â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€ campaign. The action started at 12:00 on Feb.25 in front of the Manchester University and was attended by more than 30 Azerbaijanis.

The peaceful protest was continued in front of the BBC Manchester Office. Protesters voiced the slogans â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€, â€œJustice for Azerbaijanâ€ and â€œNo more Genocideâ€. Then the protesters marched to the main street of Manchester Piccadilly Gardens. During the action, many foreigners have joined the campaign by signing the petition "Justice for Khojaly.

Note that â€œJustice for Khojalyâ€ campaign was started in February of 2009 on the initiative of the General Coordinator for Intercultural Dialogue of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue Leyla Aliyeva. The purpose of the campaign is to inform the international society about Khojaly tragedy, provide moral-political assessment of the tragedy in the international arena and commemoration of it at the international level.
