Baku to host international conference â€œCulture and beauty factors in Islamâ€

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. An international scientific conference â€œCulture and beauty factors in Islamâ€ was held at the Azerbaijan Museum of History in Baku within the Baku-Islamic Culture Capital 2009. Deputy minister of culture and tourism Sevda Mammadaliyeva said representatives of 15 research centers and high schools of 9 countries attended the conference, APA reports. She said Islam played special role in the forming f national culture of Azerbaijan. Then the deputy minister informed the participants about the international events and culture days organized in Baku.

President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Mahmud Karimov pointed out the importance of the conference and wished successes to its participants.

Chairman of the State Committee for Religious Associations Hidayat Orujov said representatives of other religions living in peace with the Muslims in the region throughout the centuries should be thankful to Islam and its high tolerance.

Rector of the Nijni Novgorod Islamic Research Institute of Russia Demir Muhaddinov, representative of the Moscow State Culture and Art University Nadejda Imiljanova and other guests talked about the importance of the conference.

The role of Azerbaijani intellectuals in the development of Islamic culture, harmony in Islam as an expression of world divinity, the role of archeological materials in researching of Islamic culture and traditions, Azerbaijani folklore in the context of Islam, value giving to women and protection of woman rights in Islam and the role of Islam in education of young people will be focused at the two-day conference.
