Professor Kamal Abdulla receives Polish government’s prize

Baku – APA. The awarding ceremony of prize for best popularization of Poland in foreign countries was held in Belvedere Palace, Warsaw on October 22. The prize founded by the Polish Foreign Ministry awards to the scientists, pedagogues, artists and sportsmen for their contribution to the popularization of Polish history, culture and literature in the world, Azerbaijani embassy in Poland told APA. Azerbaijan’s well-known scientist and writer, rector of the Baku Slavic University, corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Professor Kamal Abdulla also received this prize for his remarkable activity toward the development of Azerbaijani-Polish cultural-literature relations. Kamal Abdulla received his second prize from the Polish government this year. Earlier the scientist was decorated with the Medal for his contribution to Poland by President Lech Kaczynski.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski presented the diplomas to the laureates. Professor Abdulla presented his novel “Unfinished Manuscript” published in Polish language in Warsaw to the foreign minister and informed him about the Baku Slavic University’s activity in the education of Polish language and literature and its future plans.

The Polish version of “Unfinished Manuscript” was presented at the Warsaw University same day.
