Baku Islamic culture conference adopts its final document

Baku. Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. A final document was adopted at the 6th conference of the ministers of culture of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member countries in Baku. Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfas Garayev said it widely described positive tendencies of the cultural processes in the Islamic countries, APA reports. â€œI consider that the final documentâ€™s condemning the destruction of historic and cultural monuments and heritage of Azerbaijan in its occupied territories and demanding Armenia to fulfill four resolutions adopted by UN Security Council is a sign of support of the Islamic countries to Azerbaijanâ€.

The minister noted that it must take steps toward the wide popularization and learning of the Islamic culture in the world. â€œThese steps consider implementation of special programs for the development of tourism and cultural tourism and use of modern technologies and spread of wide information about the potential and culture of the Islamic countriesâ€.

Abulfas Garayev said declaration of Nakhchivan as the Islamic Culture Capital 2018 is the most important document for Azerbaijan. â€œWe will begin preparation of great measures toward this right now. I congratulate all Nakhchivani people and wish them success in this work. I think we can demonstrate the rich culture and history of Azerbaijan once again at the events in the framework of Islamic Culture Capital year in Nakhchivan, the pearl of Azerbaijanâ€.

Representatives of 45 Islamic and European countries attended the 6th conference of the ministers of culture held in the framework of Baku â€“ Islamic Culture Capital 2009. Azerbaijan presided over the conference. The series cultural programs will be organized for the participants on Wednesday and Thursday. The participants of the conference will watch Gara Garayevâ€™s â€œSeven Beautyâ€ ballet in the Azerbaijan Opera house tomorrow.
