Director of Culture and Cultural and National Heritage at the Council of Europe Robert Palmer offers to give status of â€œCapital of Dialogueâ€ to Baku

Ulkar Gasimova â€“ APA. â€œAzerbaijan is the only ISESCO member that is also member of the Council of Europe,â€ ISESCO Director General Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri said at the 6th Conference of Culture Ministers of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), APA reports. He underlined that the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan have high-level cooperation in culture.
â€œWithin the framework of this cooperation Azerbaijan participates in the projects of the Council of Europe in cross-cultural dialogue, cultural diversity, cultural tourism and other spheres,â€ he said.

Director of Culture and Cultural and National Heritage at the Council of Europe Robert Palmer expressed his confidence that the views expressed at the discussions will contribute to promoting dialogue among various cultures.
â€œWe should carry out concrete activities. We should think over the idea of â€œCapital of Dialogueâ€. Baku may first assume the status of â€œCapital of Dialogueâ€. This is a great responsibility, it requires great responsibility to confirm the necessity of this status. I believe that this proposal will be appreciated by the participants. Azerbaijan will improve these initiatives and organize â€œWorld Cross-Cultural Dialogue Forumâ€ in 2011. This forum will be held under the auspices of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. I call on you to support this global initiative and take active part in its organization,â€ he said.
