A citizen of Uzbekistan has been detained on suspicion of carrying out a terrorist act that resulted in the death of the chief of the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Igor Kirillov, and his assistant, Ilya Polikarpov, Russian Investigative Committee released information, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.
The individual suspected of carrying out the terrorist act that led to General Kirillov’s death was detained in the village of Cheryonye in the Balashikha district of Moscow region. This was confirmed by Irina Volk, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The Investigative Committee also reported that the detained individual has been brought to the investigator, and investigative actions are currently underway.
The Uzbekistani citizen, who was detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Kirillov and Polikarpov, stated during interrogation that he was recruited by Ukrainian intelligence agencies and claimed to have installed an explosive device on a scooter at the entrance of the general's residence.
Additionally, he placed a camera in a car in the building's courtyard. The footage from that car was broadcast to Dnipro city. As soon as the general and his assistant left the house, the explosive device was remotely activated.

Two people suspected of committing the incident that occurred on December 17, which resulted in the death of Igor Kirillov, the chief of the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and his assistant, have been detained, APA reports citing Ria Novosti.
The individuals detained yesterday also disclosed the names of those who allegedly ordered the incident.
It is reported that operational-investigative measures are still ongoing in the case.
