The co-chairs of the State Commission have discussed the implementation status of joint projects carried out by Azerbaijan and Iran, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA.
It was reported that a telephone conversation took place between the co-chairs of the State Commission on Cooperation in Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Spheres between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran — Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh.
During the telephone conversation, the implementation status of the issues reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding signed following the 17th meeting of the State Commission, held in Baku in February this year, was reviewed.
The parties noted successful cooperation in the economic and trade, transport and transit, energy, water and other sectors and discussed the progress of ongoing projects.
In particular, among the projects implemented in the transport sector, the completion of the construction of the Aghband-Kelaleh road bridge was noted as an important result. The necessary issues regarding the completion of work at the Astara freight terminal were also discussed.
