The climate conferences held in Baku have laid a solid foundation for Türkiye, Turkish Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Fatma Varank said during her speech at the Fourth Climate Week (CW4) conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), held in Baku and organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.
According to her, Baku’s climate agenda is not limited to a single conference.
“The roadmap envisaging the mobilization of at least $300 billion in climate finance annually by 2035 and scaling up total finance to $1.3 trillion was shaped in Baku in this way. The rules for carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement were also established here. This legacy has laid a solid foundation for us on the path toward Antalya. I thank Azerbaijan in this regard,” Fatma Varank noted.
