"I highly appreciate the Russian-Azerbaijani relations. The presidents are constantly in contact. We have trusting relations. There are no unresolved issues between the two countries," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during his annual press conference, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
According to him, Russia and Azerbaijan are working intensively to find new, mutually beneficial joint projects.
Lavrov noted that there is cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas: "We have created a bilateral working group on the issue of the shallowing of the Caspian Sea, and we plan to invite other Caspian littoral countries to it. We also cooperate in the field of security. There are contacts between the armed forces and special services of the two states."
The Russian Foreign Minister indicated that Moscow and Baku can resolve any issues, for example, the accidental shooting down of a Russian helicopter during the Second Garabagh War and the crash of an Azerbaijani plane.
Lavrov called on journalists to wait for the results of the investigation into the AZAL plane crash and not to spread information about the tragedy. He said that these data were not actually confirmed by the data from the "black boxes".
Lavrov said that the "black boxes" of the plane that crashed in Aktau provided very interesting information.
According to him, it is necessary to wait until the investigation is completed, and the "black box" data does not support most of the currently circulating versions.
He added that Moscow appreciates the Azerbaijani side's support for the Russian side's participation in the investigation of the plane crash.
