Taiwan will invest more than NT$14.15 billion (approximately $447.5 million) over the next six years to increase its production of weapons and ammunition, APA reports.

The project envisages expanding the production of armored vehicles, artillery, ammunition, explosives, optical equipment and special-purpose batteries.

Around $10.4 million will be allocated for the program in 2026. Annual funding is expected to reach $130 million between 2028 and 2030.

The initiative aims to significantly strengthen Taiwan’s self-sufficiency in weapons and ammunition production.
