“I thank Azerbaijan for hosting Baku Climate Week and for the partnership provided,” COP30 Executive Director Ana Toni said during her speech at a conference held as part of the Fourth Climate Week (CW4) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports.
She said there are three main goals ahead: “The first is to strengthen multilateralism, and the second is to accelerate the implementation of climate action. The final goal is to bring everyone together, from local governments to people.”
Ana Toni noted that despite the current geopolitical situation, around 56 decisions have been adopted with the participation of nearly 194 countries.
She finally stated that changes have been felt both in the city and in society following the holding of COP29 in Baku: “During this week, we must work on solutions. In particular, it is very important to engage the private sector more actively in this issue.”
