Baku-APA. Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday the country was prepared to adopt foreign military technology, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Russian plants could look for foreign partners and "it was not a shame" for the country to learn from foreign experience, Putin told a meeting of the Security Council.

However, setting up plants which assembled "the analogues of foreign arms and hardware using imported components is unacceptable," Putin said.

Meanwhile, the president suggested making it easier to engage more private enterprises in the defense industry.

"I believe the procedure for launching new enterprises and military production with the participation of private business should be simplified," Putin said, adding the country should also inject "new impetus" into the defense industry to attract more civil enterprises, higher educational institutions and research centers to fulfill defense orders.

Putin proposed setting up a database providing information about the needs of the defense sector, in order to adjust the balance between demand and supply and offer "clear guidelines" for enterprises in the industry.
