A local official from Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has been shot dead alongside his son and nephew in Batman province, Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet reported.
Mehmet Direk, who headed an AK Party district branch, was attacked at a cemetery in the Güneykent district.
His son, Erkan Direk, and nephew, Abu Bakr Direk, were also killed.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and authorities have not said how many assailants were involved.
Police have secured the area and launched an operation to apprehend those responsible.
