Hamas has stated that it is ready to hand over its weapons to the Palestinian National Committee if a peace agreement enters into force, Hamas negotiator Ghazi Hamad told Reuters, APA reports.
According to him, after the parties approve the text of the agreement, Israel must begin implementing the first phase of the deal.
Ghazi Hamad said that the Palestinian National Committee and international forces should then enter the Gaza Strip and ensure the disarmament of armed groups supported by Israel.
The Hamas official stressed that the organization would hand over its weapons only if Israeli troops completely withdraw from the Gaza Strip.
