Iran executed two men on Wednesday over their involvement in protests held in the northeastern city of Mashhad in January, APA reports citing the judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency.
According to the report, Ali Hemmati and Majid Nikandish were accused of involvement in the deaths of four security personnel and other acts during the protests in Mashhad.
The death sentences handed down to the two men were carried out on Wednesday morning after being upheld by Iran's Supreme Court.
