33 of the 88 people who were hospitalized in Istanbul after being poisoned by counterfeit alcohol have died, APA reports citing Turkish media.
Fur out of 15 people detained as suspects in connection with the incident have been arrested.
According to information, four patients poisoned by methanol have been discharged after completing their treatment.
Of the 48 patients hospitalized, 29 are still receiving treatment while connected to a ventilator.
One patient refused treatment, and two others left the hospital without permission.
In operations carried out over the past two weeks, approximately 33 tons of counterfeit alcohol have been seized.
