Israel and Hamas have signed an agreement on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of hostages held in the enclave for Palestinian prisoners, APA reports citing Al Arabiya TV channel.
"All parties have signed an agreement on the Gaza Strip," the channel's sources claimed.
According to the sources, the document has been finalised. However, the channel did not say whether Qatar, Egypt and the US, which act as mediators between Hamas and Israel and guarantee the implementation of the terms of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, were among the signatories.
It should be noted that on the evening of January 15, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced that an agreement had been reached between Israel and Hamas as a result of the mediation efforts of Doha, Cairo and Washington.
The agreement will enter into force on Sunday, January 19.
